it probably won`t work very well as a general mixture adjuster, but I`m not 100 % sure on this. The idle screw on the side of the carb seems to be there to compensate for new engines which may not idle as required with the stock setting. Available from Joe Curto in the US and others. Others needles are available such as the B1AF ( original fitment for the TR6 ) which will give a quite lean mixture, and the B2Y which is a bit richer. Early `68 cars used the B1E which was quite rich at higher air flows. Continuing our rebuild of the Zenith-Stromberg CD-175 carbs on our TR6, we've dedicated a video to showing you the internals of the confusing bypass valve, explaining how the choke works. there are ways of getting around this -ฤก ) fit a different needle. 175 CD 2 was fitted to cope with the emissions regulations and was designed to be set-up at the factory and not tampered with by owners, so adjustment of the mixture is not possible. to fill a large book on all aspects of that carb set-up. Cars with the Strombergs fitted are much more common Stateside and you will find enough info.
